All praise is due to Allah. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon His Messenger, his family, his Companions, and those who followed his path and guidance until the Day of Resurrection.
Then We gave the Book (the Qur'ân) as inheritance to such of Our slaves whom We chose (the followers of Muhammad ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻠﻴـﻪ ﻭﺳـﻠﻢ).
And Verily, you (O Muhammad ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻠﻴـﻪ ﻭﺳـﻠﻢ) are on an exalted (standard of) character.
The character of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was the Qur'an.
goodness and light, calls to all that benefits people and countries and warns against all evil. Therefore, the Prophet (peace be upon him) enjoined Muslims to care about the Qur'an in the Khutbah (sermon) he delivered in the Farewell Hajj.It is related by Muslim in his Sahih (authentic) Book of Hadith,on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered a Khutbah on the day of `Arafah, saying:
I have left among you something, which if you hold fast to it, you would never go astray, that is the Book of Allah.
Allah's book and my Sunnah
Holding fast to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger is the only way to salvation and the straight Path. Thus, Muslims as well as every Mukallaf (person meeting the conditions to be held legally accountable for their actions) must embrace Islam and adhere to its teachings.
O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allâh)
O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord
(This is) a Book (the Qur'ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.
Do they not then think deeply in the Qur'ân, or are their hearts locked up (from understanding it)?
And this is a blessed Book (the Qur'ân) which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allâh (i.e. do not disobey His Orders), that you may receive mercy (i.e. be saved from the torment of Hell).
And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ) the Dhikr [reminder and the advice (i.e. the Qur'ân)], that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought.
And We have not sent down the Book (the Qur'an) to you (O Muhammad ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻠﻴـﻪ ﻭ ﺳـﻠﻢ), except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe.
You are going to be asked about me, so what shall you say? They said, "We testify that you have advised us, performed, and conveyed the massage. Then, He (peace be upon him) raised his finger to the sky and said, "O Allah! Bear witness to this. O Allah! Bear witness to this."
