Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon the best of all Messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, his family, Companions and those who follow them in good deeds until the Day of Resurrection.

Salat­ul­`Eid should only be performed in cities and villages. It should not be performed in the desert or while traveling. Such is the Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet) as neither the Prophet (peace be upon him) nor his Companions (may Allah be pleased with

them) were reported to have ever performed Salat­ul­`Eid while traveling or in the desert. Moreover, while performing the Farewell Hajj, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not offer the Jumu`ah (Friday) Prayer in `Arafah on the Day of `Arafah (9th of Dhul­Hijjah). Furthermore, he did not perform Salat­ul­`Eid while in Mina. Actually, in following the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) there is all good and happiness. May Allah grant us success!
