The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out towards Badr and when he was in (Harrah AlWabarah) a man, who was known for his courage and help of others, came to him. Then the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) became happy when they saw him. When that man was with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) he said to him: 'I have come to you to follow you and to achieve gains with you.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked him: 'Do you believe in Allah and His Messenger?' He said: 'No.' Then, he (peace be upon him) said: 'Then go back, since I do not seek help from Mushriks (those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity or worship).'
This great Hadith directs you to set aside seeking help from the polytheists and indicates that it is not allowed for Muslims to recruit in their army other than Muslims, whether from Arabs or NonArabs, because the disbeliever is an enemy and does not believe. Therefore, the enemies of Allah will know that Muslims are not in need of them if they hold fast to Allah and become truthful in their treatment, because help is only in the Hand of Allah and not in the hand of others
O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitânah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses) if you understand.
O you who believe! If you obey those who disbelieve, they will send you back on your heels, and you will turn back (from Faith) as losers. Nay, Allâh is your Maulâ (Patron, Lord, Helper, Protector), and He is the Best of helpers.
Had they marched out with you, they would have added to you nothing except disorder, and they would have hurried about in your midst (spreading corruption) and sowing sedition among you and there are some among you who would have listened to them. And Allâh is the AllKnower of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers).
The believers, men and women, are Auliyâ' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another And: And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block under one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world) to make victorious Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism) and oppression on the earth, and a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism).
In these Ayahs, He (Glorified be He) points out that the believers are allies of one another and the Kafirs are allies of one another, and thus, if Muslims do not follow this ruling and the Kafirs mix with Muslims
and they both become allies of one another, then great sedition and great corruption will take place. This happens due to what is placed in the hearts of doubts, inclination to the people of falsehood, befriending them and the confusion of the truth for Muslims as a result of mixing with their enemies and supporting one another as what happens nowadays from most of those who belong to Islam.
Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are AlMushrikûn, and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians."
